Why Do We Make Double Split knots On French Lace

As we all know double knots are bigger than single knots. But why do we use double split knots on French lace instead of single split knots?

The reason lies in the characteristics of French lace. The lace a hexagonal pattern. The Hexagon is an unstable shape. Therefore, if we used single split knots all over a French lace base, the knots would move too freely in holes and loosen.

However, customers still need a natural front hairline, so as a default we use single split knot for just the front 1/2” and use double split knots with reinforced with stitching to keep a better shape and contour as well as extra durability.
